Mission

The cornerstone of our mission was set in 1988 with the formation of Ott Light Systems, Inc. Now reborn as a non-profit LLC, our Mission remains the eradication of Mal-illumination with a renewed focus on children's health and disease prevention.
Dr. Ott's research, like many pioneers, was generally met with polite indifference or derision from the scientific community. Although he soon began to attract public attention with his "Mal-illumination Theory" — the significance of his work was overshadowed by the pharmaceutical industry and a media frenzy that claimed that the sun was bad for us and was the cause of skin cancer. They literally, "Scared the daylight out of us!"
Few would disagree that today's children are tomorrow's leaders. However, children today are suffering in record numbers from obesity, depression, diabetes... as well as school related performance issues that have a direct or indirect association with Mal-illumination. Fueled by the recent explosion of vitamin D research, the Mal-illumination Theory is gaining advocates and has inspired a unique plan to enlighten tomorrow's leaders today.
